Russell currently teaches trumpet lessons in the Chicagoland area.

Each student is treated as an individual and lessons are catered to the student's needs. Russell will help build a solid foundation in technique, style (classical, jazz, and commercial), musicality, articulation, and general music theory.

​

Russell has been teaching trumpet for over fifteen years to students ranging from beginners to adults. He has earned a music education degree from North Central College, in Naperville, IL, and a masters degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

​

A typical 30 minute lesson consists of:

5 minutes of ear training/warm-up

3-5 minutes of scales and scale studies

15-17 minutes of repertoire and technique/musicality building

5 minutes of duets and cool-down
