BIOGRAPHY

Russell has a passion for music and teaching. Having earned his music education degree from North Central College in Naperville, Il he has since been teaching music to students of all ages. He continued his education earning an assistantship at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to complete his Master's degree in music performance.

He has performed with the DuPage Symphony, The Naperville Winds, Louisiana Brass Quintet, Fox Valley Orchestra, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Rapides Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Bel Canto among many others. 

 

Additionally, Russell taught music theory, brass pedagogy, trumpet lessons, and studio class at UL-Lafayette and trumpet lessons at the Acadiana Symphony Conservatory.

Russell was accepted and participated in the exclusive Chosen Vale Trumpet Seminar in 2007. There he studied with Thomas Stevens, Ed Carrol, Markus Stockhausen, Mark Gould, Gabrielle Cassone, and Steven Burns.

​

After graduating UL-Lafayette, Russell moved to the Washington, D.C. area and was an active performer in the community. He has performed at The Atlas Theater in N.E. D.C, The National Cathedral, The Martin Luther King Jr. Library in N.W. D.C., The Church of the Epiphony in N.W. D.C., R.F. K. Stadium, and The Kennedy Center in downtown D.C.

Russell has since moved back to the Chicagoland area and is performing and teaching throughout the community.
